Don’t let the music die
There’s this saying - “Don’t let the music in you die.”
Popularized by author Dr. Wayne Dyer, it explains how we must not let our gifts and creative talents be hidden, because after all, these gifts can change the world.
I sat there on a windy April afternoon reading Dr. Wayne Dyers book “10 laws of spiritual success”reading those words. I thought to myself, maybe following our dreams can be more impactful than we realize.
As someone who loves to give back to the community and help others, I often discouraged myself to start my own personal artist project. This isn’t an uncommon experience in people, as many will say it’s not all about “me, me, me”.
But when I finally decided to not let the music in me die (after a near death experience ironically), I realized how living your truth can in turn help and inspire others.
I began to perform my own music, as vulnerable as it was and create new things my heart desired.
Here I am just embarrassing myself, but somehow by following a dream, it was creating a ripple effect. I had others explain to me, how my journey inspired them to start theirs, that they were finally happy with themselves.
We all have this inner music that is longing to come out. If you have the opportunity and ability to pursue it, you absolutely should. It can be music, it can be art, it can be a new project, a dream from your inner child, a longing to dance. It can be this in small manageable ways, or in large over the top ones. Maybe it can show up in ways you didn’t previously imagine.
But overall, I find humans attempt to smother their human spirit with very rigid rules and regulations. Finding balance and living your dreams can inspire and contribute to society just as much as anything else!
Today’s message:
Life isn’t about being perfect. Take chances, embarrass yourself, live your purpose, your passion and don’t let the music die until it’s done.
